Was supposed to post this blog 2 months ago during the beginning of the semester. However due to some unforeseen circumstances.. it was canceled but NOW revived back.. Hehe. Edited some parts of this blog entry as it is not relevant as at today anymore.

So what's up for grabs? Well I shall list down all the places of interest that is available in Perak and you can see for yourself which one interest you..

Pulau Pangkor
The most attractive islands of Perak, Pangkor has sandy beaches with lots of water activities. Among them are snorkelling, banana boat, boat tour at the sea, jet skiing or just "syok sendiri " at the beach. For those adventurous kids, you can try WALKING to another ISLAND. Yup. You can actually WALK to an opposite small island at Nipah Bay during low tides. Warning : you must be of minimum height 160cm to walk across ^.^ Or you can cycle around the island and enjoy the scenery. Oh ya. There are many nice places for you to take your photographs as well. Accomodation is not expensive but food maybe a problem. Only Malay food is available near hotels and Chinese food is available at small town. (You will need to drive there and the thing is.. you CANT drive to Pangkor. You will need to rent a car or motorcyle) Anyway that should not be a problem if you are looking for fun water activities at beaches.

Remarks : ALL photos shown in this blog are old photos of me with my friends.

My favourite activity.. SNORKELING

Have fun in the beach.. Syok sendiri la tu..

Just some normal posing on the beach.. See how everyone is wearing the same colour T shirt? Hehe.. Just can't wait for my AFC T shirt already..

You can also take nice photos in the various nice scenery on the island..

Just look at me during my younger days.. Feel like wana slap me? Wait till you see my next photo.

Okay.. Give me a tight slap now. Haha

Gua Tempurung
Located near Gopeng, Gua Tempurung is probably the largest natural limestone structure in Malaysia. You will get to see majestic white marble and limestone towers. Gua Tempurung is definitely a place for thrill seekers where you will walk, climb, crawl, slide, and "swim" through the 1.9km of the cave. I am planning to take on the "Gua Tempurung Grand Tour" (most expensive and longest of all) where we will make a river entrance through the cave and back which is priced at RM22 per person. Did I mentioned that the whole journey will need 3 hours? Well since we may not be going there again, why don't we max out our time there? ^.^ I am sure you will be dead tired after that.
Warning : You will be all wet (from head to toe) after the activities and there are some parts of the journey where it will be total BLACKOUT. You will need to "touch" and "feel" your way through. A serious briefing will be needed beforehand.

Tambun
This place is famous for its pamelo but that will not be the reason to visit the place. The Lost World of Tambun (similar to Sunway Lagoon) is the second water themepark by Sunway group. Pros of this place is that there is hot water section (sometime like sauna in Japenese movie/dramas - open air type) but the cons is that there is no "dry" themepark like Sunway Lagoon. It is located near Ipoh so if you get bored while in Ipoh you can choose to play here.

Lata Kinjang
Waterfall.. A really nice place to relax yourself if you are having tension doing assignments or having exams. Cold water and marvelous scenery to take photo, I would really want to visit this place again. What to play there? Hmm.. Lemme think.. Water.. Water.. and more water? Haha. Just like any other waterfalls, you need to "syok sendiri" to enjoy yourself. I think we are good at that eh AFC high coms? =p

The lower part of the waterfall..

The upper part of the waterfall as you climb up the hill..

Okay.. Enough of playing. What is there to eat?
Adui.. sabarlah.. tau u orang ni hantu lapar.. ^.^

Ipoh
Been to Old Town Coffeeshop? Well that is some kind of feel that Ipoh provides you with. Being an ex tin mining town, Ipoh was developed by the British back in the colonial days. So Ipoh town itself is historic with many old buildings. Ipoh doesn't really have much to play or visit. But one thing for sure, it has many caves to visit. Among the popular ones are Sam Poh Tung, Perak Tong and Kek Lok Tong. Both of these caves are caves to worship Chinese Gods and Goddess of Mercy (Guan Yin) with a lot of nice scenery to take your photograph. (Good for blogging ^.^) But the main attraction of Ipoh is all its nice food! Warning : Those who are dieting are asked to stop reading now. Curry mee, Chicken Hor Fun (Kai Sze Hor Fun), Hakka Mee, Beef noodle, Prawn Mee, Kangkung Sotong, Chicken with noodles and beansprout (Nga Choi Kai), Chee Cheong Fun, Salted Chicken (Yim Kuk Kai), roasted duck, Pasir Pinji Yong Tao Fu, dim sum, claypot chicken rice, and seriously.. there are still a LOT more to type here.. and I am hungry already. Jackie will be the Ipoh tourguide.

Kelly's Castle. Another attraction situated near Ipoh.

Kampar
For your information, this is where UTAR is located. But it is a super small town. Its town centre are only two streets with no shopping mall. Tetapi, seperti kata - kata orang tua, kecil - kecil cili tetapi pedas juga rasanya. Kampar is famous for its Chicken Bread. As big as the size of a book, the bread is unique as you can have a choice of Curry Chicken or "Yok Choi" (Chinese herbs) as the fillings. However the fillings are not like your "roti kaya" where the fillings are mixed with the bread. The fillings are cooked beforehand and wrapped in paper. Then bread dough are wrapped all over the paper and baked. Kampar is also famous for its Claypot Chicken Rice. Oh ya. There is also "Chu Kai Pang".. Oopss.. "Kai Chai Pang" (Chicken Biscuit)

Chicken bread..

Teluk Intan
Well, that's my hometown. Woo Hoo!!! Bangga!!! It is a small town and there is really nothing much place to visit here. But Teluk Intan is famous for its Leaning Clock Tower. Nicknamed Pisa Tower of Malaysia, the clock tower is originally built to store water. However due to the unstable ground, the tower started leaning to the left. Then the tank is emptied and the tower is finally stabilised. Just like Ipoh, Teluk Intan is also famous for its food. The most prominent is its Chee Cheong Fun. Different from any Chee Cheong fun that you ever had, Teluk Intan's Chee Cheong Fun doesn't have any sauce to go with. It is a really delicious breakfast and it is a unique food of Teluk Intan. You can't find it in any other places in Malaysia. Other recommended food are "Heong Peah" (fragment biscuit or biskut wangi), glutunious rice (Lou Mai Fan in Cantonese), "Lou Shu Fun" (Mee Tikus), Mee Rebus, Rojak (featured at Ho Chiak before), Char Keow Teow (different from those you get in Penang)

Lou Shu Fun.. Finished selling by 730am.. Please wake up early if you want to eat it ya..

The Leaning Clock Tower.. It is really "senget" de le..

From the back view..

A closer look..
